How to secure Cedula (Community Tax Certificate) in the Philippines

What is Cedula?

Cedula or Community Tax Certificate in the Philippines is a certificate issued to an individual or a company. It is an important document specially when applying for a new job, registering a new business or filing of income tax returns.

How to get Cedula (Community Tax Certificate) in the Philippines?

1. Go to your nearest Barangay Hall, where you reside. Some barangays require you to first secure a Purok/Balangay/Sitio Certificate from your Purok/Balangay/Sitio President. Securing the Purok/Balangay/Sitio, you need to pay for monthly dues first (depending on the Purok/Balangay/Sitio you are residing).

    

    You can also secure your Cedula in the Municipal Treasurer's Office/City Treasurer's Office/any other Barangay Hall as long as you have with you a government-issued ID that you are from the same Municipality/City.

2. Pay the necessary fee, sign the certificate with your name in it with your right thumbmark printed on the same certificate.

3. Here you go, you have now secured your Cedula or Community Tax Certificate. You need to bring with you your Cedula all the time, especially when transacting in a government office (you might not know when you might need it.)

    Additional information:

        CTC or Cedula is valid all throughout the year it was issued, if you secured one today, it will be valid until December 31, 2023.
