How to register your TM Prepaid SIM.
As part of the Sim Registration Law, all SIM owners are required to register their respective SIM number/s in order for them to use the number for mobile data, call and text.
The primary purpose of the law is to safeguard consumers from illicit activities, including scams, smishing, and other forms of mobile phone and online fraud. These unlawful practices have become rampant because malefactors can utilize unregistered prepaid SIMs to perpetrate their crimes, evading detection and apprehension.
What information is needed for me to register my SIM?
You need to prepare the following information before registering:
- Full name
- Date of Birth
- Gender/Sex
- Address
- Type of government ID presented + ID number
- Valid government ID with photo (max file size: 4MB)
If you are the Authorized Representative to register the number under a company name, you should prepare the following information:
- Full name of the Authorized Representative
- Date of Birth
- Sex
- Nationality
- Company Name
- Company Address
- Type of Government ID presented + ID number
- Valid government ID with photo (max file size: 4MB)
- Certificate of Registration / DTI Registration (max file size: 4MB)
- Board Resolution / Proof of Authority designating the authorized representative OR a Special Power of Attorney (max file size: 4MB)
What IDs are accepted for the registration?
Here are the IDs that are accepted for the SIM Registration:
- Passport
- Philippine Identification System ID, or the Philippine Identification Card
- Social Security Service ID
- Government Service Insurance System e-Card
- Driver’s license
- National Bureau of Investigation clearance
- Police clearance
- Firearms’ License to Own and Possess ID
- Professional Regulation Commission ID
- Integrated Bar of the Philippines ID
- Overseas Workers Welfare Administration ID
- Bureau of Internal Revenue ID
- Voter’s ID
- Senior citizen’s card
- Unified Multi-purpose Identification Card
- Person with Disabilities card or
- Other government-issued ID with photo
How to register you TM SIM?
For TM Prepaid SIMs:
1.Visit the SIM registration website. (Click here)
2. Enter your 10-digit mobile number (ex. 9171234567) and click the “Register” button.
3. If your number is eligible to register, you’ll receive a One Time Pin (OTP) text message on your mobile phone.
4. Enter the 6-digit OTP on the registration website. (The OTP expires in five minutes.)
5. After your OTP is validated, you may now proceed with the registration.
6. Enter all required information: Name, Birthday, Gender, Address, and Nationality
7. Take a picture of yourself and choose the type of government ID to be uploaded. Click the “attach” button to upload a copy of your valid government ID.
8. Tick the checkbox to agree with Globe's Privacy Notice and Attestation of Completeness and Accuracy.
9. Click "Submit" button to finish the registration process.
10. A reference number will appear on your screen to signify completion of registration. Please keep the reference number as proof of registration.
Conclusion:
Registering your mobile phone number as requirement of the Sim Registration Act (now a Law) is now easy, as it is a requirement those who operates with a SIM number or a mobile device that functions with a SIM number. If not extended, you can only register your sim until June 27, 2023, after that all SIMs that failed to be registered will be blocked.
